For most of my life, I have taken up more physical space than I have been comfortable with…in order to hide! Somehow, that makes sense. It provides a sense of anonymity, I suppose. Whatever it is, I used it to feel safe. My discomfort and self-consciousness provided easy excuses for things I wanted to do or try to do – physical (climbing fences, obstacle courses), emotional (putting myself out there with men), and professional (I can’t possibly go for it the way I look now!).
I was an Excuse Factory and my production line was unmatched.
