Food Is Not My Friend. Food Is My Fuel.

It hasn’t always been that way.

You know that feeling of relief that comes when you finally put down a super-heavy backpack that you’ve been carrying all day? So light! So free! Look how easily I can move through space!

Moving food and food choices from the seat of power in my life and into their proper places is like that. I can breathe deeper, move about life more freely, and finally get to the fun stuff!

For most of my life, though, I fueled my emotions, doubts, fears, and negativity. I was coping. I was surviving. I was doing the best I could at the time. I told myself that I was “treating myself” and that I needed to destress.

I literally treated food like a friend. I guess it was easier to reach for it than to reach out for support. Pick an emotion, good or bad, and I numbed and dumbed it with food!

Life was ponderous…even the everyday things felt so HARD. The journey to something better starts with a single step and mine started with a clear YES to my health journey and a firm commitment to myself to never, ever hide from my coach.
